I am honored to present William Milostan as a Kindergarten Student of the Month at Mayville Elementary School.
Will is the son of Cody and Nicole Milostan of Mayville. He has a sister, Bella, who will be in Kindergarten next year. He has a dog named Daisy and two cats Princess and Cricket. He really misses his dogs Charlie and Jewels who have passed away. His favorite colors are red and blue. His favorite food is bagels with cream cheese.
In his free time at home, Will likes to play with Hot Wheels and watch shows on his tablet. Will also enjoys playing football and basketball. While at school, Will loves seeing all his friends. He is a very social boy! Will’s favorite subject in school is math. When he grows up, he would like to become a pilot.
Will was chosen for this honor due to his academic performance and outstanding behavior in our classroom. He is a stellar example of what a student should look like. During lessons, you will find him actively listening and participating in all classroom discussions. He isn’t afraid to ask questions and he shows interest in all subject areas. During any free time, you can find Will drawing and writing. Will also enjoys sharing any knowledge he has learned outside the classroom. He takes pride in all his work and has outstanding handwriting. Aside from the academic reasons, Will also has great character. He treats all students and staff with kindness and respect and has a natural sense of empathy and compassion that makes our classroom family a better place to be. All these traits will help Will become successful in future endeavors.

I am honored to present Sophie Tomlinson as a Kindergarten Student of the Month at Mayville Elementary School.
Sophie is the daughter of Courtney Tomlinson and Joshua Tomlinson. She has a brother, Owen, who is in first grade. She has two dogs Callie and Bailey and three cats Precious, Oliver, and Toothless. Sophie’s favorite color is white. Her favorite food is pizza. Her favorite book is about Toothless the Dragon.
In her free time at home, Sophie likes to play anything with her brother Owen; especially riding scooters and bikes. When I asked Sophie what her favorite thing about school is, she quickly smiled and said, “Going to School! I love school!” Those words are music to her teacher’s ears! Her favorite subject is reading and she is very good at it. When she grows up, she would like to “do everything”. The jobs she is thinking of so far are training tigers and being a doctor.
Sophie was chosen for this honor due to her academic performance and outstanding behavior in our classroom. She is a stellar example of what a student is. Sophie is hands-down the best cleaner I’ve ever had. You never have to ask her twice to do something and she never complains about the fact she does the majority of cleaning after centers and play breaks. She takes pride in all her work and has outstanding handwriting. Aside from the academic reasons, Sophie also has great character. I am honored to present Colton Wells as a Student of the Month for Kindergarten at Mayville Elementary School.
Colton is the son of Anthony and Shayln Wells. He has two older brothers Landyn and Hunter. Colton has two dogs named Preacher and Chubs, a cat named Emma and a tank of piranhas. His favorite colors are red, blue, and white. His favorite food is fried chicken. He likes it crispy.
During his free time at home Colton enjoys jumping on his trampoline with his brothers. While at school he loves to run. He loves running during gym and during recess. His favorite subject in school is math.
Colton was chosen for this honor because of his performance in the classroom and out of the classroom. He is a very polite and respectful young man. Colton is a good friend to all and willing to help everyone.
In the classroom, Colton is very serious about learning and is always ready to get down to business. He offers to help other students if they are struggling. I can always count on Colton to participate in group discussions regarding what we are learning. Even when we are having a high distraction day, I can count on Colton to be listening and answering questions. I have seen Colton try to help others get back on track when they are struggling with paying attention.
I am honored to be Colton’s teacher for the second half of the school year. It has been such a pleasure to see his smiling face every morning and his eagerness to learn.
I am honored to present Aubree Booterbaugh as a Student of the Month for Kindergarten at Mayville Elementary School.
Aubree is the daughter of Pamela and Nathan Atkinson and the late Kevin Booterbaugh. She has three brothers, Denver, Landen, and Louie with another brother on the way, Mathias. She also has two sisters, Holly and Hannah. Aubree has a dog named Chase and a cat named Drago. Her favorite color is purple. Her favorite food is watermelon.
During her free time at home, Aubree enjoys reading lots of books. While at school, Aubree says she loves to learn. I can always count on her to answer questions during group discussions. Her favorite subject is writing. If you visited our classroom, you would find Aubree with her notebook or a white board writing different words she knows or finds around the classroom during her free time.
Aubree was chosen for this honor because of her performance in the classroom and out of the classroom. She is a very polite and respectful young lady. Aubree is a good friend to all and willing to help everyone.

Sawyer’s favorite color is orange, but he also likes blue, green and black. His favorite food is chicken and rice, and his favorite school lunch is Bosco Sticks. His favorite candy bar is Snickers. When asked what his favorite season was he said, “December”, because he likes getting presents. He was gently corrected by another student, so he said his favorite season was spring, then he changed it to fall, because he likes to rake leaves and then jump in them.
When Sawyer grows up, he would like to be a bus driver. When asked why, he said it was because he wanted to teach kids how to write numbers. I asked him if bus drivers teach kids their numbers and he changed his answer to being a teacher AND a bus driver. So I asked him again why he would like being a bus driver, and it is because he likes seeing kids.
His favorite subject in school is math. He likes knowing how to write number bonds. At recess, he likes the spider jungle gym. He likes that you can jump from high places. He used to jump from the seventh rung, but now he only wants to jump from the third rung. At home, he likes to play on his slide. He will also play baseball this spring.
Hearing his answers and further explanations throughout his interview reminded me of why I picked Sawyer. Not only is he a great kid, who is respectful, smart and well-behaved, but he is a great conversationalist and thinker. He knows what he knows and will be honest if he doesn’t know something, but for a five year old he has remarkable communication skills. I am very proud of Sawyer and have been honored to be his teacher. It is for these reasons that I happily present Sawyer Walker to you as my Kindergarten Student of the Month.
I have chosen Ava Fox as my Kindergarten Student of the Month. Ava is 6 years old and the daughter of Alex and Courtney Fox. She has one older brother, Gabriel, who is 7 years old and in 2nd grade. Her family has three dogs, Murphy, Roxy and Gibbs, and they are getting another dog at Easter. They have chickens, and she collects the eggs with her mom.
Ava’s favorite color is purple. Her favorite season is summer, because she gets popsicles. Her favorite candy is a sucker. Her favorite school lunch is corndogs and at home, she likes spaghetti, broccoli soup and tomato soup.
Ava has a lot of interests outside of school. She likes to play outside with her brother and go on her swings. She is in dance and is learning how to tap dance. She will be playing summer ball, and she likes to go camping with her family and walk around the campground.
When Ava grows up, she would like to be a doctor. I asked her if she likes to see blood or would want to cut someone open for surgery. She wrinkled her nose and said, no. So I think she would like to be a doctor, who works at a doctor’s office and sees patients. Ava likes school. Math is her favorite subject, as she enjoys learning about number bonds. She likes gym, and at recess, she likes playing on the monkey bars.
In class, Ava is a kindhearted and respectful student, who is doing very well academically. She is very quiet, so I am always happy when she comes and talks to me about things going on in her life. It has been a pleasure having Ava in my class, and I am truly honored to be her teacher, which is why I would like to present her to you as my Student of the Month.
Elaina is the daughter of Joe and Melissa Russell. She has an older sister named Savannah and a younger brother named Camden.
Elaina has two dogs. Poppy is black and white and Dexter is brown, black, and has some white. Elaina says she likes to play with her dogs and loves to take them for walks outside.
Elaina’s favorite food is strawberries, but her favorite meal is the sloppy joes made by her dad. Her favorite restaurant is Applebee’s. When she is at Applebee’s she likes to order breakfast for dinner, with chocolate chip pancakes being her favorite.
When Elaina is able to play outside she likes to play on the swings the most. If she has to stay in the house, she likes to relax and watch TV. If she can’t watch TV she likes to play with her Barbies.
Elaina’s favorite book is The Pout Pout Fish and her favorite subject in school is Math. When Elaina grows up she would like to be a doctor and a mom.

Dillan is the son of Timothy Fisher and Sonya Lyles. He has one brother named Timothy, but Dillan loves to call him Timmy. Dillan does not have any pets but would like to have a husky someday.
Dillan’s favorite food is Hamburger Helper made by his dad. His favorite restaurant is The Oven in Caro and his favorite thing to order is a hot dog, pickles, and french fries.
Dillan’s favorite book is The Amazing Spiderman and his favorite color is blue. He likes blue because Spiderman has blue on him. Dillan’s favorite subject at school is math. He likes math because he thinks he is pretty good at it.
When Dillan is able to go outside he likes to play with his brother. If he has to play inside he likes to play video games. When I asked Dillan what was something special about himself he said his family makes him special. When Dillan grows up he would like to be a teacher.

His favorite thing to do at school is playing during recess because it is so much fun. James is an excellent reader. His favorite book is anything from the Magic Tree House series. He enjoys reading these books at night with his mom. James wants to be a police officer when he grows up. He wants to help others stay safe. This is not surprising as he is an excellent helper in the classroom, as well.
James was chosen to be student of the month for a variety of reasons. He is a very hard worker, and is always willing to help others out when they are in need. He tries his best to set a good example for his classmates. James has a very kind heart, and is a friend to anyone. James is truly a pleasure to have in class and so very deserving of this award. Her favorite subject in school is recess because she loves to get outside. Ali is an excellent reader. Her favorite book is Clifford the Big Red Dog. She loves to read with her mother every night. Ali wants to be a Veterinarian when she grows up. She loves helping animals, so this is the perfect job for her in the future. This is not surprising, as she is an excellent helper in the classroom.
Ali was chosen to be student of the month for a variety of reasons. She has a wonderfully kind heart and is a friend to everyone. She is always the first person willing to help a classmate in need. She is a very hard worker, and volunteers for any task in the classroom. She takes pride in her work and always tries her best. Ali is truly a pleasure to have in class and so very deserving of this award. Congratulations Ali!!!

At home he likes to play on his tablet, especially a racing game. When he grows up he wants to be a police officer because likes police cars.
It is a joy to have Gabriel in class and he is a wonderful representation for Mayville Elementary School.
This is Aubree’s first year in Mayville, and I am so happy to have her in my class! Aubree is a very kind and respectful young lady. She cheerfully completes any task asked of her and is always willing to help. She does an outstanding job of meeting all C.A.T.S. expectations. She is a great example of a student who chooses wisely, acts responsibly, treats others with respect, and stays safe. Aubree can always be counted on to follow directions and to give her best effort.
Aubree’s favorite subject in school is math because she likes numbers and adding. When asked what accomplishments she is most proud of, Aubree says that she is proud of everything that she has done because it makes her happy to try her best. Because of Aubree’s hard work and attentiveness in class, she has made great academic gains so far this year!
Outside of school, Aubree enjoys seeing her cows, playing on her Switch, and playing with her American Girl Dolls. Aubree would like to be a nanny when she grows up so she can see cute kids! Her goals for the future also include having a happy life and going on vacations. I have greatly enjoyed having Aubree in my classroom. She is a wonderful young lady with great potential. I am confident that she has a bright future ahead!
Robert is a hardworking, polite young man. He cheerfully completes any task asked of him, and never hesitates to help a fellow classmate. He does an outstanding job of meeting all C.A.T.S. expectations. Robert participates in all lessons and activities, and puts his best effort into all of his assignments. He has great enthusiasm for learning, and is usually one of the first students to raise his hand in class. He works hard to learn and is always excited when he figures out a tough problem or understands a new concept. Robert says his favorite subject at school is gym because he gets to play hockey and do gymnastics.
Outside of school, Robert helps out a lot at home. He does chores on the farm and helps with cleaning the house. He is proud of the fact that he can be such a great helper for his family. For fun, Robert likes to drive his go-kart, play with his puppies, and jump on his trampoline. He also enjoys going to church. When he grows up, Robert wants to be a farmer because he likes to do chores and learn about animals. His future goals also include swimming and winning go-kart races!
I have greatly enjoyed having Robert in my classroom. He enters the school every day with a smile! His cheerful attitude and excitement for school, add to the positive environment in our classroom. I am confident that he has a bright future ahead of him!
I chose Kendyl because she follows our CATS expectations here at Mayville. Kendyl always tries her best and works hard in class. She is respectful and helpful to her classmates.
Kendyl is the daughter to Richard and Kirsten Raymond. She has a cat named Harley at home.
Kendyl’s favorite food is macaroni and cheese. If she could choose any restaurant to go out to eat at she would choose Little Ceasars because she likes their pizza and breadsticks. Her favorite thing about school is going to gym class. His favorite subject is math because she thinks it’s fun. She enjoys reading books from the Junie B. Jones series. Her favorite color is light purple. At home she likes playing games with her mom and dad, especially attack uno! When she grows up she wants to be a singer because she likes singing.

I am happy to announce that Denver Booterbaugh has been selected to be a Mayville Student of the Month. Denver has been a complete joy to have in the classroom. He is a wonderful role model for all students as he obeys and follows the school rules. Denver, also, is a helpful, young man who is always ready to lend a hand to those in need.

He also likes to play video games with his family. When asked what he would like to be when he grows up, he says a cop because his stepdad is in the academy.
Denver has proved to be an excellent student, and he will only succeed more as he furthers his education. With his drive to improve and his ability to make wise decisions, Denver will continue to do well at the things he sets his mind to.

I am happy to announce that Teeghan Laurain has been selected as a Mayville Elementary Student of the month. Teeghan is extremely responsible and caring. She always follows directions and school rules and is one of the first to be prepared in the classroom. She, also, is patient with her fellow classmates, and is willing to help.
Teeghan is the daughter of Gretchen and Tim Olds. She is the youngest of 8 children and loves spending time with her family. Teeghan also has a dog named Honey and a cat named Raven. Teeghan has many hobbies outside of school. She loves spending time playing with her family camping and swimming off of the dock. She also likes to go to her sister’s house and shop. When asked what Teeghan enjoys most about school, she said she likes math and science. She would like to grow up to be a teacher because it sounds fun and she really likes helping people.
I believe that with all the hard work that Teeghan demonstrates now, she will only continue to succeed in her future endeavors.

It is my honor to present Keaton West as one of Mayville Elementary School’s third grade students of the month. I chose Keaton because he is a polite and respectful student. He comes to class with a smile on his face and a positive attitude. He does his best and works hard. Keaton is the son of Nicholas and Blair West. He has one brother, Avery, and two sisters, Isabella and Madisyn. Keaton’s role model is his dad because he helps him with his homework and teaches him how to drive. When he grows up he would like to be a busdriver or a baseball player. His friends are Zak, Garrett, Kolt, Cameron, Levi, Hunter, and Carter. They say he is nice, fun, and is good at cheering people up. They also said he shares and always includes others.
Keaton’s favorite subjects are math and reading. His favorite books are Eerie Elementary and Dogman. His favorite food is pizza with meat and black olives. He also likes to read or watch television with his brother. His favorite sport is baseball and he likes all types of music.
We are very happy to have Keaton West represent Mayville Elementary as our Student of the Month.
It is my honor to present Jazmen Hicks as one of Mayville Elementary School’s third grade students of the month.
I chose Jazmen because she is a sweet girl and is so kind and positive. She is a great role model for her classmates. She makes good choices and works hard.
Jazmen is the daughter of Branden Hicks. She has many siblings: Christian, Olivia, Walker, Ashley, Clayton, and Jaxon. She said her role model is her brother Clayton, because he helps her out sometimes. Jazmen would like to be a doctor when she grows up.
Jazmen’s favorite subject is reading. She says she is really good at reading, so it makes sense that she loves to read. She has dogs, Lucky,Bear and 8 puppies. Her favorite book is How to Catch a Unicorn by Adam Wallace. Her favorite food is tacos and she likes to listen to Kidz Bop music.
Jazmen likes to play board games and cards. Her friends are Rori, Riley, Emily, and Baylee. They say she is a nice and a really good friend. They also say she is kind, funny, always helps people, and loves everybody that she meets.

Zayden Judd-Hicks is the son of Tabatha and Donald Shagena and a brother to Sophia. Zayden’s best friends are Owen and Adler. In his free time he enjoys playing video games with his dad and playing with his chickens and dogs. Some of his favorite things are football, video games, and pizza. Zayden’s favorite subject in school is math and he would like to be a cop when he grows up.
Zayden was chosen as student of the month because he always puts forth his best effort in class and he is very respectful and responsible. Zayden is helpful and always willing to go above and beyond for his classmates and his teachers. It is a joy to have Zayden in class.
Mariyah Singleton is the niece of Shelley and Antonio Carrillo and a sister to Levi, AaMya and Tynasia. Mariyah’s best friends are Annabelle and Gracelynn. In her free time she enjoys playing with Coco and playing Minecraft with her siblings. Mariyah’s favorite subject in school is math and her least favorite subject is language arts. The thing that Mariyah is the most proud of is her family. Her Aunt Shelley is her role model because she teaches her to do hard things and she loves her very much.
Mariyah is a great student and friend, she is always willing to help her classmates and her teacher. Mariyah always tries her very best and never gives up. She is very helpful, kind and sweet, it is a pleasure to have her in class.
Olivia is the daughter of Ean and Shaune Carey and sister to Kali, Logan, Rachael and Nathan. To no surprise she has a lot of best friends, they are Lily, Jewelianna, Emma, Luci and Ireland. In her free time she likes to read and draw. Olivia participates in cheerleading and basketball.
The thing Olivia is most proud of is her grades. She enjoys reading the Magic Treehouse series. When she grows up she would like to be an in-home daycare provider.
Olivia is a very kind and charming student. She works very hard and is a friend to all. It is a pleasure to have Olivia in the 4th grade.
Lucas is the son of Cheryl and Mike McCann/ Justin Thompson and brother to Emma Thompson. Lucas is a great helper in the classroom and a very studious student. His best friend is Jesse Fowler and he enjoys playing games. He enjoys listening to upbeat music.
In school he really enjoys math class and excels in the subject area. He enjoys playing with animals and especially loves cows. When he grows up, he would like to be a veterinarian.
If Lucas could go anywhere in the world he would like to go to Hawaii. He enjoys The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series and loves to eat pizza. It is an honor to have Lucas as a student.
Molly Johnson has been chosen as 5th grade student of the month. Molly is the daughter of Angela Snyder and Aaron Johnson, and stepdaughter to Ken Snyder. She has a younger sister named Ahnna. Molly’s favorite subject in school is Math because it’s fun! Outside of school, she loves climbing trees, playing with her dog Sarabi, and FaceTiming with her friends. In the future, Molly wants to work in a pet store. Molly has been selected by her teachers because she always puts forth her best effort in all that she does. She is a hard worker and eager to learn new things. Molly is a kind person and a friend to all. She is always willing to lend a hand and comes to school everyday with a positive attitude.
Randall Simpson is one of the Fifth Grade Students of the Month. He is the son of Randall and Shayna Simpson, who reside here in Mayville. He has two sisters, first grader Olivia and two year old Melanie. Randall enjoys hockey, minecraft, and playing with his sisters. He enjoys science since he gets to complete many different experiments, and wants to be a scientist when he grows up. Randall is an attentive listener, helps anyone who is struggling, and is thorough with his work. He is a great role model for his classmates.
