
The Mayville High School staff is proud to announce that junior, Mae Eghigian, is March's student of the month. She is the daughter of Adam Eghigian and Tauni Novak both of Mayville. Mae has 4 siblings: Morgan, Karynthia, Arkadiya, and AceMasen. The high school teachers chose Mae as student of the month because of her hard work and dedication to her studies and her respectfulness to students and staff alike. Also, she is helpful when it comes to assisting her classmates and her bubbly disposition is a welcome element in every classroom. Mae’s favorite high school class is English. She is actively involved in after-school activities. Mae plays basketball, volleyball, and softball as well as being involved in Student Council, Spanish Club, NHS, and NTHS. She stated that during her free time, she liked to shop and hang out with her friends. Mae feels compelled to help people which has influenced her future plans. Mae plans to pursue a career in the medical field as either a NICU nurse or an anesthesiologist. When asked what she likes best about being a Wildcat she stated that she appreciates all the opportunities she has had to play sports and she is proud of the education she is receiving. She is grateful that all of her teachers try their best to educate their students. The MHS staff is proud to announce that junior Nikolas Jackson has earned the title of Student of the Month for the month of March. It is clear that Nik is not only a diligent worker but respectful and courteous to both classmates and staff alike. Nik is the son of Matt and Kerrie Jackson, and the brother of his sister Kelly Thomas. Although Nik is not involved in any sports, he is an active member of the Science Club. Chemistry is his favorite class. Nik’s future plans include attending college and pursuing a career in mechanical engineering. In his spare time, Nik enjoys relaxing and playing video games. From the Mayville High School staff, we would like to congratulate Nik on being selected as March’s student of the month. We are certain that he will continue to impress his teachers, parents, and peers with his hard work and dedication.

The MHS staff has agreeably and joyfully nominated Nathan Carey as February’s 10th grade student of the month. Nathan has rightfully earned the title of Student of the Month through consistently demonstrating his outstanding work ethic, respect towards peers and teachers, and of course his Mayville Wildcat pride! Nathan is the son of Ean and Shaune Carey. Nathan and his 6 siblings have always resided in Mayville. He has been an integral member of the track for 3 years and just recently joined cross country as well. Outside of school, Nathan enjoys riding dirtbikes, ice fishing, and hunting. While his post-high school plans are to either work at Cummins or become a welder, he currently spends summers working on a farm. The Mayville High School staff is proud to announce that sophomore, Nevaeh Lambert, is February's student of the month. She is the daughter of Brian and Barbara Lambert of Vassar. Nevaeh has 3 siblings, 2 sisters and a brother. The high school teachers chose Nevaeh as student of the month because of her hard work and dedication to her studies and her respectfulness to students and staff alike. Also, she is helpful when it comes to assisting her classmates and she always keeps a positive attitude. She is actively involved in afterschool activities. Neveah plays basketball as well as being involved in Student Council and planning events at the school. She stated that during her free time, she liked to make art and hang out with her friends. Nevaeh has a big passion for art and really enjoys drawing whenever she gets the chance. With art having such an influence on Nevaeh, she plans on pursuing a career in art. She is looking forward to exploring her options after high school and plans on attending college to obtain a degree in the field of art. The MHS staff’s selection for January's 9th grade student of the month was an easy resolve. We are proud to announce that freshman Marshal Smith has earned the title of Student of the Month. It is clear that Marshal not only exhibits outstanding work ethic, but his mannerisms towards others are nothing but respectful and courteous! Marshal is the son of Brad and Leeann Smith. Marshal and his family, which includes 1 younger and 4 older siblings, came to us from Lapeer at the start of last year. Although Marshal is not involved in any sports or clubs, he does enjoy building various things and doing yard work. For this reason, he is considering a career in either engineering or a trade such as electrical. From the Mayville High School staff, we would like to congratulate Marshal on being selected as January’s student of the month. We are certain that he will continue to impress his teachers, parents, and peers with his hard work and dedication.
The Mayville High School staff is proud to announce that freshman, Savannah Weber-Russell, is January’s student of the month. She is the daughter of Melissa (Joe) Russell of Fostoria and Chris (Gwen) Weber of Grayling. Savannah has 2 siblings, a brother and a sister. The high school teacher’s decision to choose Savannah as student of the month was an easy one considering her hard work and dedication to her school work. Also, she is nice and very respectful to her teachers and classmates. She is actively involved in afterschool activities. She participates in Volleyball and Softball. When not in one of her two sports seasons she is in the weight room. She also participates in student council and planning events for her class. When asked what her favorite things to do were when she had free time, she stated she liked to hang out with friends and family. If she isn’t playing sports or hanging out with friends, she likes to listen to music, swim, hunt and fish. Being a goal oriented person, Savannah has laid out a framework for her life after school. She is looking to dual enroll while in high school and complete as many college credits as possible. She is looking forward to going to college. She would like to attend Saginaw Valley State University to pursue a career in nursing.
